dekker Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 It starts fine and runs good all the way through the gears but some thing is bothering me. When it sits at idle it only runs on the left side normal. The right side just kinda fires once in a while... as soon as i give it a little gas it starts to fire. Here is what I have done so far. Cleaned the carbs twice....including taking out the pilot and cleaning it up ... Switched plug wires... no change..... .checked pickup gap looks good.... Compression is 130 per hole .... I just switched to cpi should i change my pilot????? I just dont know where else to look . Any IDEAS?????????? Zach  Quote
yamaha04 Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 sync the carbs sounds to my like they are out of sync. Quote
dekker Posted February 22, 2008 Author Report Posted February 22, 2008 Correction Right Side runs fine left side wont idle other than a pop here and there Quote
Handyman Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 What pilot jet do you have in it now? Have you checked the air screws?? Quote
dekker Posted February 22, 2008 Author Report Posted February 22, 2008 Pilot 27.5 Air screws are 1.5 turns out Quote
Handyman Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 Have you tried looking for an air leak?? Have you done any work on the motor for this issue to start?? I'd also check all the electrical connectors.. Quote
dekker Posted February 22, 2008 Author Report Posted February 22, 2008 Have you tried looking for an air leak?? Have you done any work on the motor for this issue to start?? I'd also check all the electrical connectors.. Sprayed it all down with starting fluid no leaks..... I had the motor out to pait the frame and the top end was off but other than that thats it..... BansheeKid15 Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 Did you just remove the TORS? Maybe the boss on that side wasnt ground down enough. If the screw isnt touching the slide.. its not gonna idle. Quote
Handyman Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 There's a connector up next to the steering stem by the top of the steering loop that has to deal with the cylinders...make sure that has a good connection..you will have to pull the tank to get to it...I found this connector when I accidently broke it... and started it up to see what it's purpose was...left cylinder was dead...so I fixed it and the left cylinder worked....Just a thought.... ziegman Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 sync the carbs, already been down that same road. sync the carbs. Quote
dekker Posted February 22, 2008 Author Report Posted February 22, 2008 Tors has been removed for over a year no matter how I adjust the screw it makes no difference. I have adjusted the left slide from one end of the spectrum to the other where you adjust the sync and it makes not difference. .... What is this thing you are talking about by the steering stem????? IrideA250R Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 sure you got the slides back in the right carbs? The cutout on the slide faces the rear of the carb (air filters) Quote
dekker Posted February 23, 2008 Author Report Posted February 23, 2008 yea done that before Slides are in correct Quote
ziegman Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 In order to sync the carbs you first need a carb sync tool. then carbs must be synced at idle and with the throttle engaged just off idle. Is this what you have done? Quote
