those trucks have bad intake leaks.. they leak oil.. causing all sorts of problems (no start , run rough ect...)

take the air box off the throttle body and open up the throttle body ... look inside with a flash light... if its all wet the intake need to come off and you need to install all new gaskets but the one thats causing the problem is on the bottom of the intake ... its drawing in to much crankcase gases ... the cover has like 15 bolts on it... jsut a thought... ive done a ton of those intakes... (master auto tech) "aka" very shitty job...

just a though....

ohhh that trans is going to go out soon if it hasnt already.... or unless its a manual...

good luck

Really.. I have NEVER heard of anyone having problems with the intakes.. I have a 99 with 115,000 on it.. My dad has a 96 with 150,000 and I have several friends with similar trucks.. I never remember doing any when I worked in a shop either.. You work in a Dodge dealership? Not trying to be a dick at all.. To be honest Iam just a mopar guy, have always had mopar and most of my buddies do aswell.. Also have a close friend thats a tech(has been 15 years) and he is a mopar guy to.. I just figured if they were that natorious I would have heard of it by now.... Weird..

As for that trans, I have heard that those are natorious for going out.. However when I had mine checked out just shy of 100,000 EVERYTHING looked real good... Like anything else I think allot of how long a ride lasts depends partly on luck and a whole lot on how its taken care of...

I will have to look down the throttle body for shits and giggles the next oil change..

yup.intake gastket does often go on them.will cause it to bog since it sucks oil like a vacuum if it goes.also if the gasket is bad most times ull hear a spark nock.as far as the rad leaking.i would replace that asap.its best to just buy a new one for the price of a recore...210 bux liftime warr.and the low idle,as mentioned check all ur vacuum lines for leaks or breaks.i have the same motor in my 97 ram and just had to replace the rad and the intake gasket not even a month ago...oh and the trans a few years back lol
