viper1 Posted February 15, 2008 Report Posted February 15, 2008 i have the trinity 2 to 1 carb set up with the reed spacers and the v force 3..do they really work or can i take them off?? Quote
yamaha04 Posted February 15, 2008 Report Posted February 15, 2008 some of the time people just use read spacers to space the carb out therefore it raises it up a little and will clear the clutch arm when your using aftermarket carbs. performance gain is probably minimal Quote
Duneman101 Posted February 15, 2008 Report Posted February 15, 2008 (edited) for the most part all they are good for is to help the carb clear the clutch arm... two performance comments usually made about them are that they increase the track distance from the reed to the intake ports and this increases velocity, the second performance suggestion is that it increases the volume of air fuel mixture thus allowing more into the cylinder for the compression stroke... HotCarl Posted February 15, 2008 Report Posted February 15, 2008 and one performance comment usually is that they give you one more place for a air leak. Quote

sinisterboo Posted February 15, 2008 Report Posted February 15, 2008 he said he's running a 2 to 1 setup, so it shouldnt need them for clearance right? Quote
bansheeyfz Posted February 15, 2008 Report Posted February 15, 2008 for performance dont spend the cash Quote
Snopczynski Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 spacers aren't needed on your bike if its still a small bore or a stock stroke. Quote
FireHead Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 i have the trinity 2 to 1 carb set up with the reed spacers and the v force 3..do they really work or can i take them off?? They work for clearing the clutch arm with big carbs, but that's about it............ Quote
viper1 Posted February 17, 2008 Author Report Posted February 17, 2008 thanks guys for the input..im curently running them but didnt notice any difference so i was going to take them off.. Quote
nayr742003 Posted February 17, 2008 Report Posted February 17, 2008 how do u like the 2 into 1 set up my buddie has one on his bike and he wants to change it is it worth me dealing it off of him? Quote
jbooker82 Posted February 17, 2008 Report Posted February 17, 2008 You need to get a set of cascade reed stuffers. They make the reeds have a big square opeaning to match the intake. Quote
Snopczynski Posted February 17, 2008 Report Posted February 17, 2008 (edited) you dont run the cascade square reed stuffers with a 2 into 1 intake. You actually have to match port the 2 into 1 intake to the reed cage at the top and bottom. Then take the plastic stuffers out of the vforce cages and match port them side to side. When you look in the intake, you can see this has to be done. Nothing matches up at all. Edited February 17, 2008 by Snopczynski Quote
alcoholbanshee Posted February 17, 2008 Report Posted February 17, 2008 Reed spacers work extremely well. I had them in my old 350 engine and in my 421 cub. They gave me a 50 horsepower gain!!! I am telling you these things really work!!!!! My buddies all told me it was the nitrous nozzles I had mounted in them..........but I am positive it was the spacers that gave me the huge gains!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
