hey whats up everyone. i am new to the site cause i just bought a 04-05 banshee, that might have some work done to it. the owner didnt know much about the thing so i was like, "ill take it off your hands for 1500" and he took the deal. seems to me it might be stolen.

now that i got it i was wondering if i could get some help on doing a routine inspection to make sure everything on it is working properly.

o and i was wondering what type of oil to gas fuel ratio should i use on these banshee's.

first things first, if it runs good when you baught it like pretty damn good and youve ran it for over 30 minutes to an hour. then yeah its stolen, go check the vin with a leo and return someones bike and turn that peice of shit in who sold it to you. if it runs choppy then well the motors about to blow and go beat down that peice of shit who sold it to you...

Did he have a title?? I'd be carefull because as far as the law is concerned, recieving stolen property is the same as stealing it in the first place. I would have the vin# researched if I were you. I hope for your sake it's legit. If it's a legit deal then do yourself a favor and get a clymers manual, This will explain all of your maintenance needs. I run my gas/oil at 40:1, most guys on here run 32:1 as far as I've seen. Welcome to the HQ.

do yall know of a good site that i can run the VIN.

the guy said that he lost the title in Hurrican katrina, but he could be full of shit.

it doesnt start because it doesnt have any gas thats why i was asking about the fuel ratio

Local Police Dept., they should be able to run it. Just tell them the whole story, I would hate to see you get in any trouble for it.

Fist things first, to me that sounds like a b.s. story to me so it could be stolen, look at it this way if someone stole something from you an some random person ended up with it wouldnt you want them to return it, as for fuel I run 32:1, I hope its not stolen an you get to keep it,

yea i ran the vin number and its not reported stolen so im keepin it, even tho i aint got no papers on it.

i ran it earlier this week and it seems to run fine other than a small exhaust leak at one of the joints.

i also noticed it shakes pretty hard when im goin slow before i give it any gas.

when starting it, it makes this rediculous noise, but like i said im new to banshees so i wouldnt know the noises the engine makes or anything along those lines.

if yall can pitch in on what i need to be listening for it would be wonderful

The "shaking" while going slow is just how a 2 stroke feels when it isnt in the "powerband". I always tell people when riding a banshee for the first time.......once you hit the powerband..pin it wide open and get the gears as fast as you can.
