inthemail Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 just needing a few ideas in case fleabay falls through. where might i be getting some parts??? websites??? Quote
yamaha04 Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 www.rockymountainatv.com www.magicracing.com you like and canada like me so you cant go online and buy from rockymountin. you have to call in the order. when you do that you can ask them for there catologe its like 850 pages. wicked book. the only shippy thing about ordering from the USA is that when it comes you have to pay the post office a retarted amount of money to get your stuff. this cost is for customs. so some stuff is better to buy in canada and pay the higher price. but others are so cheap it still works out cheaper after customs Quote

yamaha04 Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 lol just for an example me and a couple of my friends just order some stuff from RMATV. . we got 2 case savers. T.M. design. 1 pair of grips, big bar camps, some Gforce wheel hubs. i cant remeber what shipping was but i know just to go to the post offic to pick it up was 50$ thats just criminal like when you pay for shipping you shouldnt have to pay to pick ip up. also last year i got my parts back from fast racing. cost 130$ for shipping that was express like 4 days with insurance on it. but then it was like 70 or 80 to pick it up at the post office lol. not fun at all. there need to be a decent store in canada and some decent builders. they would make a fortune. inthemail Posted February 11, 2008 Author Report Posted February 11, 2008 there need to be a decent store in canada and some decent builders. they would make a fortune. more like a fucking owners co-operative. im sure you know what i mean being out west and all. co-op stores have been around for ages. the members buy what the members want bringing prices down for everyone, im going to start up with a buddy here importing parts and services but we still haven figured out the customs crap.... as a group of enthusiasts, i say we come togeather and FIND the builders, FIND the machine shops, FIND that sort of crap and do the math ourselves, not only to reap the cash rewards but think of how much the sport scene would explode up here? instead of hitting the dunes people would hit the tundra haha what i was thinking, was buying the parts. PAYING out the ASS to have them cpoied under my own name (cascadecanada or therealrockies or some shit like that) and just using our economy to produce the parts HERE for HERE. knawmsayin? i know... it sucks having to pay customs tax on shit. i cant wait to send jeff my motor and get it back... im gonna send him some goddamn giftwrap and a birthday card for myself so i dont have to pay tarriffs. its my birthday Quote
badassbanshee479 Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 jeff has just about everything you could need so I would get everything from him if you are gonna send your engine there anyway Quote
Fireroad Express Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 if you go for used parts in good condition(always ask for pics!) you can get the seller to "low-ball" the declared value on the customs papers and pay alot less than you would buying new. most sellers will give you a break if you ask them to put the declared customs value of a set of used pipes(for example) at $200 instead of the $400 that you paid for them. i built my machine almost entirely from used parts off the BHQ and Planet S& and have no regrets. it avoids the major ass-reaming the customs and revenue agency likes to give people when they import goods into the country. just an option/suggestion to consider while completing your build. inthemail Posted February 11, 2008 Author Report Posted February 11, 2008 yeap. a good portion of money WILL be goin to FAST lol i might do the rebuild myself to avoid the huge waste of money in shipping tho Quote
