heat cylces. start it and idle for 20 min then let it cool ALL the way off.. do this 3 times... then ride the first tank of gas on and off the throttle and shifting thorugh all the gears as much as you can... after that ride it like you stole it

Yep...

AND....

Drain the fuel tank, throw that gas/oil out. No telling how long it's been sitting there...

Mix up a FRESH batch of oil and gas at the ratio you plan on running...

That ratio is up to you...

 

Pop the seat, make sure the filter lid is securely fastened, this seals the air filter on a stock air box/air filter.

 

I agree, heat cycle it a few times, allowing it to Cool COMPLETELY...take it for a 10 or 20 minute ride shifting through gears, try not to stay at a certain RPM for too long. Let it cool...go beat the HELL out of it...

Last year when I bought my 06 brand new, I did the heat cycles an after the 3rd or 4th tank I dont remember the dealership told me to change the tranny oil, I did that, the very first tank of gas in the bike when you buy it is like mixed at 20:1 thats really rich, second tank I started doing 32:1 with 93 pump gas an yama-lube 2R. It all worked out good.
