Handyman Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 Starting in march I'll be out of the area and won't be riding my shee's let alone starting them. Wife won't be riding them either. What do I need to do to them since they will be sitting for at least 6 months untouched. The weather will be hot so i don't need to worry about the fluids freezing or anything like that. I'm mainly worried about the motors..Do I need to do anything special to my 421 powervalve?? Quote
sheerider1026 Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 i would add stabil to the gas, ride it for about 30 mins, then after it cools down pull the plugs out ans squirt a little fogging oil or wd-40 in the cylinders, spin the kickstarter by hand(slowly) with the plugs out, re-install the plugs and you should be ok.. my .02 Quote
fastrthnu Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 carbs are all Id worry about. Empty the tank and bowl and oil the floats up. In a normal motor, ID say just run through some lucas stabilizer, but I dunno about the mixed gas. Quote

BigRed350x Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 Def. drain the gas tanks and your carb bowls. Pull your plugs and spray some wd-40 on the cylinders and pistons to prevent any chance of rust. Put plugs in your pipes to keep any kinda moisture out. Other than that, I wouldn't worry about much.
