I had to cut mine off it was a 99. never took care of it. go spray WD40 on it every hour till you try next time. The bolt gets rusted to the pivot tube and wont slide out of the frame. Quote
BaNsHeeJuNkEy Posted January 3, 2008 Report Posted January 3, 2008 40 is t-shirt weather all day long. and like everyone elsa said get it off the ground. and start banging away if you don't have a air chizle. it took me 2 hours to get my brothers out of his 400ex with a 5bls hammer. see if u can get some pb blast in the it will eat away at the rust some. but either way you got some banging to do if it is rusted in. theshee Posted January 3, 2008 Report Posted January 3, 2008 little note 06- when you put it back in, put a little coat of anitsieze in there, that will help for ruture work. I will get you a pic tomorrow of 10 degrees and 40mph wind. Quote

ellison445 Posted January 3, 2008 Report Posted January 3, 2008 Saw Jaw, 2 beers and a New Pivot bolt...... Worked for me   Quote
Dinner Posted January 3, 2008 Report Posted January 3, 2008 Geez you guys having 10 degree F weather really must be something right now. It's only -15 C right now without wind and this is just early winter  But yes get the bike sitting on blocks or something (under the engine), remove the wheels and remove the shock. Then if need be you can move the swinger up and down while you are banging out the bolt. Quote
fastrthnu Posted January 3, 2008 Report Posted January 3, 2008 I had that happen on a bike I was parting out. It had a +4 swinger on it and the bolt would not come out for anything. Ended up having to cut it up to sell the frame. Tried sledge hammers, torch, penatration oils, and all. Wasted a nice swinger. this was with the spring off too. Quote
