ClimbAnyHill
I recently ported my Shee and yeah.. those symptoms exist on stock shees too. I threw in a Tusk Clutch, Pancake Bearing, Modified Shift Star & Shift Shaft, Shift Pro Kit. Don't have the overide but it shifts like butter! All shee's can use these mods + easy to install! dirt-riceburner
I had the same prob under load even with shift star mod. We took the tranny apart and it seemed the shift forks looked pretty worn so we changed all three out. Now, it shifts very smooth at any rpm. LS1Inferno
Everything is stock and i dont want to spend that much yet, whats the cheapest way to fix this. i had the trans apart a month or so ago and the shift forks were like new. bigboybanshee
Did you check the shift shaft? It could be worn or slightly tweaked. Also, did you check the alignment of the shift shaft? Make sure the "claw" (for lack of better terms) is set correctly around the star or else it will give you trouble shifting. Also be sure that when you're riding, you drop your toe completely off the shifter after you shift...if you keep pressure on the shifter, it won't shift into the next gear...I caught myself doing this a lot last year, was causing me to miss shifts quite a bit. badassbanshee479
FAST racing offers a shift shaft mod, and an easy shift spring that helps with the shifting problems. I have also heard of people cutting every other dog off the gear clusters to help them shift better
Snopczynski
Wont shift in any gear, or just a certain gear (gears)? Please better describe the issue. Its definitely not normal for a banshee not to shift at high rpm. The trans will always work if nothing is broken, bent, worn, and your using good oil. LS1Inferno
It wont up shift in ANY gear at high revvs, im using valvoline 10w30. I didnt pull out the shift shaft, but checking it is next on my list, and i take my foot away from the shifter. it physically will not let me click into the next gear untill its about 1/4 throttle. i REALLY dont want to tear the motor apart again. when i bought it,it was fine except someone ran it w/o oil and locked up 5th, but i put in a new shaft and gear.
