whats wrong here?

quick question. my tank is just about empty, turned on my reserve and started it up.

i let it sit for about 3-4 minutes(pipes were not yet hot) and gave it a blip of the throttle and it

instantly died. could it be not enough fuel, or maybe just too cold still? another question, everytime i kick start it in this

sort of situation,to get it going again, am i flooding my carbs?

inbetween writting these 2 posts.. have u tried putting some gas in it?

i know mine has done the same thing, even when it appears theres a splash of gas left ... put some GAS IN IT

I would start by cleaning your petcock, or put some gas in it (couple gallons) and drain it back into a gas can while watching the flow while switching from on to reserve. If the reserve port is gunked up you will see a noticable difference in flow.

 

Probably why no one replied is they were thinking, "why doesn't he put some gas in it?"

If your giving it gas as you kickstart it then yes your flooding it. Pull the choke out too. And for god sakes put some GAS in.

when i got my first 4wheeler or dirtbike ever (blaster) the guy and his son came and dropped it off at my house onenight, i was all gungho to go rip it and it ran for like 10 feet and then bogged out and died and wouldnt start, i thought they screwed me or something, therew was still a tiny little bit of gas in it from the looks of it, but sure enough, i put a gallon in started right up and ran fine

for real put some gas in it , if its out of gas and you keep kicking it it wont flood . theres no gas to flood it

I dont understand the question here, the bike sounds like it was out of gas, when you raise the revs it wants to put more fuel in, but you dont have any to put in, seems kinda simple. Youll know when you flood the carbs, youll see gas leaking out of the overflow tubes, and you'll smell it.
