flattrakker Posted November 3, 2007 Report Posted November 3, 2007 How do you get the old head studs out.. im replacing them becuase they were stripped. they are like rusted in there. Quote
RadarRacing Posted November 3, 2007 Report Posted November 3, 2007 Turn two head nuts together till they are really tight and use a wrench to turn the lower one till the stud come loose. Might have to spray WD 40 or something on the studs and let it sit for a while if needed. Quote
xXBlessedWithDeathXx Posted November 3, 2007 Report Posted November 3, 2007 I was wondering that also. 2 of the oem studs need to be replaced for a cub setup and we snapped one using vice grips. best of luck to you cuz i have no idea. Quote
flattrakker Posted November 3, 2007 Author Report Posted November 3, 2007 i used vice grips and the method mentioned above.. still no mercy! Quote

RoostRocket Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 pb blaster is the shit!! i think motion pro makes a tool that gets the job done without fucking anything up. Quote
RIPRuck Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 I always use pb blaster where I think I might have problems removing something and it always does its job.. Good stuff! Quote
bbcmudtruck Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 PB works good, however Aero Kroil is the best. It is a little expensive, but man it does wonders. Hit it with some Aero Kroil and let it sit for awhile, and repeat. Then weld a nut to the stud, but I wouldnt weld it at the very top, try at least half way down the stud. If this fails you need to bite the bullet and take it to a machine shop. They shouldnt charge very much anyway. Quote
