Did you use clear coat on top of the almost chrome? If not did you double coat the coating, otherwise it will break down fast without it. Just a heads up. From what I can see in the pictures the work seems to be decent.

the swing arm is done in chrome and yes it has to have a clear coat like you said or it will brake down.. it is not good uv resistant.. the cases are silver metallic.. the metallic caused a sheen from the flash
