black sunshine Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 Try leaning the needle out. That will definitely help. Quote
opt101 Posted October 19, 2007 Author Report Posted October 19, 2007 lean it out one, really bad bog now Quote
opt101 Posted October 19, 2007 Author Report Posted October 19, 2007 lean it out one, really bad bog now idle air is almost all the way in, need clipe 2nd from top, 1/4- 1/2 turn out on the air, runs like crap... Quote
black sunshine Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 Your pilots may be too big, but that's not going to solve all your problems. Any idea what your compression is? Clean air filter? Also, check out FASTOYS profile, he's got a link to a PLUGCHOP that you need to perform to size your mains properly. Quote
dajogejr Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 I didn't know Mikuni offered a 345 main jet, you sure it's not a 340? Either way...that bike is PIG FAT (Rich) for your mods.... With an airbox still in place and holes in the lids....you are feeding WAY too much fuel to that motor. Quote
opt101 Posted October 19, 2007 Author Report Posted October 19, 2007 It could be 340(I looked at it a month ago, if I know I have one size up 350 that I was going to put in, but didn't so I figured it was 345), I now have the clip 2nd from top, changed the pilot to 35 from 30 and no more bog and revs and idle right back down like its supposed to, I got to check the mid and top end now, its raining rightnow, ill take it out in a bit... dajogejr Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 NO...1/4 to 1/2 throttle is the needle... Move the clip up one towards the blunt end, see if it gets better... I think 30 pilots is still too large with an airbox and a lid with holes in it... Quote
opt101 Posted October 19, 2007 Author Report Posted October 19, 2007 (edited) Right now its at 35 pilot, when it was at 30 I had the low end bog, Now its at 35 2nd from top needle no low end bog, Idles down like its supposed to, but I have the 1/4 to 1/2 LOAD UP... dajogejr Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 Have you actually tried adjusting the air screws from 1/2 turn out to 2.5 turns out, in 1/2 turn increments. Are you changing the needle the same time you're changing the pilot? Quote

Are you changing the needle the same time you're changing the pilot? The 2nd time I did, Right now with the above post is my current set up, and I'm 1 3/4 turn out, The top end is perfect, start off is perfect, mid is prob... *2ND FROM TOP *340 MAIN *35 PIOLT *1 3/4 TURN OUT Quote
dajogejr Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 Just for giggles, try this. 30 pilots. 1.0 turns out on the air screw, put the needle clip in the the 4th clip down from the top... Quote
