After a few runs on some bowls in Glamis, CA last weekend I noticed a loud grinding noise (metal-to-metal) developing in the engine. Shut down the engine, started in normal the noise continued as soon as I pulled clutch lever in the noise would fade away.

Only when the clutch lever was release the grinding noise would be heard. I was 6-miles from camp and was able to return on my own power over the sand dunes on all gears. Anyone knows what I screwed up? May be the clutch plates broke loose? Please advice. Thanks....
