banshee 4 me Posted September 30, 2007 Report Posted September 30, 2007 just got my 28mm boss racing intakes from ebay(eliminated the prodesign intake with boost bottle)also ditched stock carbs for 28mm keihins.installed intake installed carbs, then upp poly carb-to-airbox boots.now my air box is being pushed back almost an inch.the intakes push the carbs back far.i trail ride sometimes through creeks and mud and want to keep my airbox and lid to keep out water and debris.how do i make this whole thing work???also, since the coolant tank mounts to airbox, and the air box is being pushed back....the lid to the tank will not line up in the rear fender!!!!can i relocate the tank somewhere else?????????what do i do????????????i have it all hooked up but air box is not bolted up because now the mounts dont line up!!!!!!!!!??????????????? wesw Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 mount your coolant in the front of the frame or just get rid of it. and then just slide the box back but dont try to bolt it down. i would just get an outerwear and remove that lid robbing power with it on. Quote

When you start stuffing bigger intakes, and carbs in there you might as well switch to POD filters. If the air box means that much to you then keep the stock carbs and intakes. Chances are if you ride in wet enough conditions that your worried about your filters, then your cant really put all the power to the ground due to the muddy wet conditions. Quote
Klotzban1 Posted November 3, 2007 Report Posted November 3, 2007 I tried the Boss billet intake about 2 years ago and ended up going back to my airbox and New stock intakes. Quote
