yea , you can use and type of rtv sealer at your local parts store , blue is standard and red is high temp

 

That is Lock tight. RTV isnt a thread sealer. It is just Silicone.

 

The only thing I use on my cool head is teflon tape where the studs screw in to the cylinders. The O rings seal the head up.

Not every time...I've always had a problem sealing the aftermarket heads. With RTV, without, with grease, without, dry...etc.

I would use high temp thread sealer, just like I put on my Differential drain bolt on my truck...

 

However I have never used thead sealer on my noss head the O-rings seal everythign right up. So much in fact that they smash down and need to be replaced every time. (not all of them just the ones around the studs.).
