-4millstroker with 5mill long rods possibly with the tz bearing???

-HJR aggressive dune port

-PD cool head with 18cc cut domes

-vf3 reeds

-PD timing plate

-33 pwk carbs/pods/boss manifold

-paul turner high revs

-lightended flywheel

i want a broad powerband. something with a good low mid hit but still have plenty of top end power. what do you guys think? what would you change or do different?

should i get a lockup or would a billet basket and FAST clutch be plenty? thanks for the help guys. :thanks:

you could get away with out the lockup.. just used HD springs and get an ez pull perch and lever...only thing i would change is T-5. I like those pipes. oh and im not a fan of the lightened flywheel...

i had t5 on before and i loved them but i am looking for something with a broader powerband. the t5s seemed to hit in the mid range alittle further then i would like. but im keeping my options open. thanks for the reply.

Sounds like a well rounded setup, if you don't have the cool head already, I would go with the Noss head. It is a 1 piece design and doesn't require longer studs like the PD, but it uses the same domes and O-rings. It's cheaper also.

As for the clutch, I would get the billet basket and FAST clutch kit, maybe with 3 heavy springs, if for some reason it doesn't hold up, you can always upgrade to a lock up later.

i have the PD cool head already... i bought it before i stumbled on bhq. so i think ill go with the billet basket route instead of the lockup. thanks for the info guys keep it coming.

what is wrong with the lightened flywheel?? doesnt it give you better excelleration losing some unsprung weight?

well im a big guy so the lightned flywheel kills the power if i have to get off the pipe... it will allow your motor to spin up faster but it also dies out faster as well..so in those hard corners id rather have the extra wieght spinning...

im only 180 so would it affect me much? i know if your off the pipe they like to stall, but would it do that with just -6 oz.? it doesnt sound like the benfits are worth the effort.

I would go with a full drag port. And dont say that you cant dune with it then because I dune with my drag ported jugs and i am anly 12 years old. And that pro design head is definately the way to go, droped my temp 50 degrees. And i know because I have a temp gauge. Souunds like your bike is going to be fun. Keep us updated. Where do you ride? Glamis? Im in So Cal.

the 6 oz of rotating mass makes a big ifferance.. some guys swear by them... ill never run one... also your taking the chance that if there is a weak spot in the flywheel hat when you shave it the thing could let go and fuk your world up. an old buddy of mine had it happen like 4.5 miles from camp in glamis...

That motor ought to run pretty good.

I'd definately go with the fast clutch and a magnum billet basket for sure.

Not sure you would need the lockup. You should also look at installing

a pancake bearing on the adjuster.

All depends on who does your drag port...

I'd love to see you try and dune with a motor that comes on the pipe from 8000 to 10500 RPM....that's a real drag port....

If you don't mind running race fuel...you're set.

Looks like a good combo...

I ran a lightened flywheel on my stock port, stock motor with timing and T5s...and I loved it.

I did NOT ride tight trails however, I duned, drag raced and rode wide open trails...

I agree with -eman if you are gonna ride tight trails, stick with the stocker flywheel.... It does get on the pipe quick, the R's also fall faster with less weight to keep the engine moving.

ive always run race fuel with my 18cc domes and +4 timing so thats no big deal. im going to get my jugs ported by kevin herr most likely an aggressive dune port i would sacrifice some top end for bottom end in a heart beat. the lightened flywheel is out the door... im gonna see if this clutch burns up i just bought it from cascade a few months back and its in great shape ill just get stiffer springs.

im also getting all the easy shift shit like the pancake bearing modded shift star and that shift pro thingy... thanks a lot fellas. :thanks:

roost if your intertested im going to sell my stock jugs when i get them back from jeff. they are ported for a 4mil and will come with 64mm prolites. the motor has like 25-30 hours tops on it, if that...also has extended studs for PD head. was ported by alba like a year ago. is more of a power every where port. not a ton of top end but lots of bottom and mid...
