AJC Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 just got my shee a few days ago(its a 2003) and problems already.. well not serious ones i dont think.. but i was riding today and when i went to ride up a hill she just bogged out when i gave her the gas. than when i got her back on the level ground i put her in neutral. tryed to give it some gas and it was like it was just going to shut off on me. sometimes she would take the gas and go but most of the time she would try and shut off... idles perfect.. and when i do get her going she runs great. only happends every now and than.. i was thinking either a dirty carb. dirty air filter or spark plugs maybe? oh or a wire grounding out? any help, advice or tips would be greatly appreciated! thanks, Adam Quote

AJC Posted September 14, 2007 Author Report Posted September 14, 2007 sounds like a clogged main trying cleaning the carbs and see if it still happens i was thinking along those lines..because the bike was laid up for 5 or so months.. with no start ups! thanks for the help.. ill give it a shot tomorrow after work Quote
flattrakker Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 i think i experienced the same thing on my Kawasaki Mojave. I was going in 4th and let off and i let off and pulled in the clutch and it died. I know for a fact that the carb is dirty because my pipe melted a whole in the airbox when out on the trails. Im gunna clean my carb. interesting to see the same scenario, Quote
AJC Posted September 15, 2007 Author Report Posted September 15, 2007 okay. i was in a rush and was going to head out to the garage and clean the carbs.. and jesus, when i looked at how to take them off i was like .. i dont have one sweet clue what anything is hooked up to them and theres hoses and these big things hooked onto the carbs.. i was expecting it to be like a dirtkbike.. take em off and cleaned and back on in 15 minutes... im going to try it tomorrow morning again.. and take my time.. it will be a time eating process i think.. looks like i got to take the pipes off? to get them out. but i put a new set of plugs in her and shes still a bit boggy.. not half as bad. cause this bike was sitting up for about 6 months right. so the carb has to have some gunk in there somewhere. paulnyw Posted September 15, 2007 Report Posted September 15, 2007 ya sitting that long the carbs will def be dirty make sure you put the bowls back on the right carb and dont forget the choke tube between the carbs the boxes on top are the tors crap i would look into a tors removal kit because tors is known to cause a lot of headaches Quote
