bigdaddy69 Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 Maybe I'm just being cheap here, or not understnading the enginuity behind it but the only difference I see between a stock shift star and a moded one is the points arent so violent. With that being said, why couldnt someone save themselves 40 bucks and take their stocker to the bench grinder? Just wanting some opinions here, and dont be afraid to tell me I'm cheap.... Quote

I was also thinking about that but its not only the star you need to mod you also need the Kit from cascade. (Shift Pro ~Easy Shift~ Kit) COMES COMPLETE WITH A LIGHTER TENSION SPRING, ROLLER BEARING AND BRACKET. now i dont know about you guys but my shee dont have a roller bearing. i just think that mod would help also. Bansh-eman Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 that shift pro is nice but its not a must, the star alone will help you not skip gears when shiting Quote
fast500#12 Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 you can do it on a bench grinder. i did mine. you just wont have the back cut relief for neutral, so it wont be any easier to get in neutral. Quote
FireHead Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 Several of us on here have made our own. I didn't go the bench grinder thing, but I know several folks who have and it work well. :geek: Quote

I have a modded shift start(bought it) and the shift pro kit. the spring on the shift pro kit is really stiff. I would strongly recommend getting somethign else. Someone mentioned one from a blaster....get it. If anybody has a spare i can buy from a blaster, shoot me a pm. Quote
