RoostRocket Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 Whats better? A cool head with domes.. or milling the head. Im looking at my options. Thanks. a cool head will give you the option to switch domes out and it will help keep your bike running cooler. definetly go with the cool head. Quote
letsgetthisdone Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 i like my coolhead, except for the fact its a PITA to put on...... I've been thinkin about havin my stocker milled and the domes reshaped, and sellin the coolhead. I like bein able to put stuff on and have it be done... Stock head takes me less then 5 minutes to put on. Coolhead takes a half hour, and it is really easy to screw up and havce it leak... $100 to totally redo the stocker. or $235 to buy a coolhead, that does look nice, but is kinda a pain.. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 they both achieve the same thing. the coolhead is nice for changing dome sizes. it doesnt help cool your motor any better once you hit operating temp. when your sitting it will aid a little just becsue it flows better. as a stand alone mod, your not going to see a ton of power from it. shee rips Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 well for 30$ you can accomplish basically the same thing as a 200 something dollar coolhead. If you dont have overheating problems and dont need to change domes all the time to accomodate different fuels or whatever then i would just mill the stocker. that is unless to you its worth the extra 200ish dollars for another nice shiny peice  Quote
