somewhere in time Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 I bought a used modded Banshee and have not had time to perform a plug chop or compression test. My buddies want me to go riding tomorrow. Will I be okay risking it and just running 110 octane at 32:1 with Yamalube 2R, or should I wait and figure out compression? see mods below..................... Thanks Full Toomey exhaust Cool Head Wiseco Pistons K&N cone filters jetted Appears to have aftermarket carbs on it. Quote
theshee Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 With those mods it would be hard to think there would be a whole lot of compression. I would run a 50/50 race gas/ pump gas mix and call it good just to be safe till you can figure out what the compression is. I doubt its high enough to need 110. Quote

Did the previous owner tell you that you need to run high octane fuel? Quote

somewhere in time Posted August 17, 2007 Author Report Posted August 17, 2007 Did the previous owner tell you that you need to run high octane fuel? The owner was not much help at all honestly. I bought it way cheap. Does 32:1 sound okay? Thanks Quote
bigboybanshee Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 32:1 is fine with most oils. Some prefer 40:1 or 50:1. If you're unsure, just run high octane gas until you can find out what the compression is... Quote
FasterThanU90 Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 yamalube yea ive heard too much octane can hurt a motor Quote
