Main opens at 7/8-full throttle. So thats gonna be your needle more than anything.

What the hell is a oko?

oko is a knock off of keihin carbs they are the same exact build just a hell of alot cheaper. all keihin parts fit in oko carbs, and vise versa. what needle do you think would be the best?

i got the 30 mm OKO carbs on ebay for 89 a piece. they fit stock intake boots and the air box boots. i heard they are nasty for any unported, stock cylinder banshee. like 15% horsepower gain. its just been a pain to get the jetting right.

its unresponsive as hell. im pretty sure its lean.

i order 42 pilot jets earlier in the week. ill try them and then order some 48's and CEL needles.

does the needle really make that much difference?

thanks for the help. been driving me nutts went through 10 different main jet sizes finally got that right.

I run a single pwk 35mm carb and I only run a 38 pilot jet in it.

I think the 30mm oko's use different needles than bigger keihin carbs.Call carb parts warehouse he can line you up on the needles. The 30mm okos than I ran ,took a bigger pilot than the 34mm keihins that I am running now.I think I ended up with 52pilots on the okos and that was jetted on a dyno.

You are way to low on the pilot. I ran those for a time, you should be looking at 48 to 50 pilot. They take larger pilots than the 35pwk or 34 pj's do. I ran the needle it came with, dial in your pilot first then play with the needle. They take different needles than there larger kin.

You will also want to drill out the fuel inlet holes on the float needle section. Not the inlet on the tip needle, but on the sides when the float needle slides out, it pours out past it on the sides. You will see what i'm taking about when you take the float and needle out. The holes are to small and you can run the bowls dry, opening them eliminates that problem.

I'm running these carbs on mine as well?? r u talking bout the small hole the side like a window into the needle rite? what size do I want to drill this out too? I think my pilot may be a little on the rich side I'm @ about 2000 elevation running 52 I think I'm gonna go to 50 or 48 cuz I don't do that much full throttle and my plugs get dark... when I run it hard (drag) the clean up so I'm thinking bout goin up on my main (172 Rite now), but I'm gonna do a plug chop first cuz I'm pretty close.... I have 40 over bore, ported reeds with petals, 19cc domes n cool head, Toomey T5's, Open Uni pods... I'm running half 110 half 91@ 40:1 yamalube....

You ran a 48-50 with your mods or with the original poster's mods? (pipes and dual K&N filters)

I am finding someone with close to your mods (porting, +4 timing, bored over, pistons, head, domes) who likes running a 45, and a guy with pipes and air filters that thinks he needs more than a 39.

What jets did you end up working with? or did you have another cause for the low end power?

Do you have a link or some way to contact the person, whom you purchased the carbs from?

Any pics also?

thanks
