peterlocal22 Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 (edited) new to the jetting world so im having some problems. i have some pics to make sure what im doing is correct. im trying to figure out what main jet i should runa nd what pilot jet i should run? im about 200 ft above sea level in massachusetts. here are some pics: first pic is just a brass screw hex nut? weres the main jet? second pic i thought was the home of the main jet but after taking the hex brass nut off im not sure if this is the main jet location or is it? Banshee0028 Posted August 10, 2007 Report Posted August 10, 2007 now heres a pic of were the pilot jet is i think?i took it out second pic and it has a 48 on it? hows a 48 for my area of riding, shouldnt it be lower?? Pic one (HEX) IS your main jet. Pic 2 is the pilot. Depending on how quickly it starts up, a 50 pilot might work good and a 185 for the main should be close (180-190). Quote
Snopczynski Posted August 10, 2007 Report Posted August 10, 2007 Should be with your setup dek or eek needle, probably on one of the higher clip positons (leaner). Pilot around 38-42 with1-1.5 turns out on the air screw. 185-190 main jet. Quote
TOYBOX Posted August 12, 2007 Report Posted August 12, 2007 Follow the above on the jetting except, if you don't have ported cylinders go 170-178 on the main Quote
Snopczynski Posted August 13, 2007 Report Posted August 13, 2007 Follow the above on the jetting except, if you don't have ported cylinders go 170-178 on the main What???? I think thats way too lean. Quote
fox_forma Posted August 14, 2007 Report Posted August 14, 2007 your pilot seems to be in the right spot with a 50, maybe could use a 48, 178-190 can make up for the main, each banshee reacts differently. Then its onto the needle to get the mid-range right. You can hit it dead on first time oor it can take you a while till you find out what works. It can be a bitch Quote
Snopczynski Posted August 14, 2007 Report Posted August 14, 2007 Now my exhaust is a little more restricitve than twin pipes, but I have a 38 pilot with the air screw out 1.25 turns, a 190 main jet, and an eek needle in the leanest clip position. I am probably gonna try another needle too. I went from the dek to the eek and it ran better. I seriously doubt a twin pipe bike is gonna run that lean of a main jet though. Even the pilot seems awful big too. Quote
