Thanks. it's a cleaner fuel than pump gas.. and it doesn't varnish up like pump gas.. it'd work really nice with some more compression.... Quote
flattrakker Posted August 5, 2007 Author Report Posted August 5, 2007 I run 80:1 Amsoil would i have to change that? Quote
jbooker82 Posted August 5, 2007 Report Posted August 5, 2007 I run 80:1 Amsoil would i have to change that? How many hours do you get out of an engine before it needs a new top end? Quote
370banshee Posted August 5, 2007 Report Posted August 5, 2007 what amsoil premix is that? i know alot of guys run amsoil saber at 80:1.. i'm not a big fan of that being that saber is a chainsaw, weedwacker type oil... if your running dominator at 80:1.. wow thats lean.. and there has got to be exhaust side damage in very few hours.. i'm an amsoil dealer and have played around with the ratios.. the recemmended 50:1 on dominator works well.. until you start raisng the ex port height.. it still works well but i prefer to 40:1 ratio with any ported motor... due to higher cylinder temps from the raised ex duration.. in a 2 stroke engine the exhaust side of the engine gets lubricated last. but it's also the hottest part of the cylinder.. soooooo... in that regard thats the downfall of a 2 stroke engine design... when..... you lean it to much on oil... especially if you run them lean on oil with a PV setup... i know that has nothing to do with this particular situation.. so i guess what i'm saying is... are you running saber or dominator? flattrakker Posted August 5, 2007 Author Report Posted August 5, 2007 Its saber. My local mechanic told me he ran it in his RZ350 when he raced it. Quote
370banshee Posted August 5, 2007 Report Posted August 5, 2007 (edited) well being that it's a 100:1 oil then at leat your running it a bit rich... like i said though... 40:1 amsoil dominator is a better choice Edited August 5, 2007 by 370banshee Quote
flattrakker Posted August 5, 2007 Author Report Posted August 5, 2007 40:1 dominator with 100LL? what would you reccomend for a head and domes? Quote
