My left cylinder reed cage has what smells to be premix coming out of it, i was just wondering if this was normal or if it was a big deal. I know it is most likely a reed gage gasket leak, but i was wondering if there is suppose to be a lot of premix getting onto the reeds. Its not like dripping out and spatting on everything. But there is enough that after awhile of riding i can take my finger and wipe it onto it, and its a good amount. I have stock reed cages with boysean power reeds. My tranny fluid is full and clean and i dont seem to use a drop.

If its blowing back through the carbs you have bad reeds,if you have residue coming out from between the reed cage and jug you have an airleak and it needs to be fixxed ASAP!

i just put brand new boysean power reeds in it so i know those are not bad, also i sparyed brake cleaner around the reed while it was running and it never bogged down once.

When I bought my son's banshee,I noticed that one of the reed cages had some oil residue on the flange a few times after we rode,It wasn't a drip just kinda wet with oil.Well I pulled the reed cage only to find that someone had left the gasket out.I installed a new gasket and haven't had a probem since....

your gaskets are made out of paper.... if you got them saturated that could be causing it...at first i thought your question was that the reeds had oil on them like inside the cages? now your asking about oil coming out of the reedcages like at the motor? im a little lost

ya sorry about the confusion. When it is all assembled and put together there is a little bit of oil that you can wipe of with your finger on the bottom of the cages. I know i need to change the gasket, but i just wanted to make sure that there is even suppose to be that much oil in the reed area. And yes i know the premix flows through the reeds, but im just a little curios as to what everyone else thinks.
