banshee87 Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 its me again i ve got another problem . got a 99 shee that has alot of up and down play in the shifter the splines are good its the whole shaft moving havent pulled the cover yet but im thinking possibly a bad shift star any other thoughts would be great you all have helped on my other issues and on my shee i cant get over 84 mph list of mods .80 over coolhead 20 cc domes :biggrin: 110/ 92 octane always mixed 50 50 :biggrin: :biggrin: klotz oil ngk 8 plugs :cool: 34mm flat slide kehins :cool: kn filter no lid on box stock gearing stock tire size v force reeds :biggrin: 1/4 reed spacer :biggrin: aluminum vitos intake :biggrin: toomy t 5 toomy boost bottle jetting was to toomy specs done by l and j performance Quote
Fireroad Express Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 it could possibly be the shift linkage adjustment screw. this evil little part can cause all sorts of transmission nightmares. if it shows any signs of wear, replace it. that being said, you're probably going to have pop the cover off the engine and have a look see. 1993shee Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 I have the same problem with mine right now...lots of play in the shifter and troubles getting it to shift into gear. I called a banshee engine builder and he told me more than likely it was the rachet spring. Its a cheap fix, just have to pull the clutch cover off and replace it. I think this is what my problem is, but im taking it to him today because I am having some other work done also so I figured I would let him do it while hes in there. I will let you know what I find out. Quote
