ruber pipe? take a pict of it... inside your tank should only be the plastic ends of the petcock. the closest rubber peice is the fuel lines and the rubber vent on the top...

sorry mate cant get the picture to upload. Its a long black rubber tube just like the one that comes out of the top of the petrol tank top. I dont think it belons in there at all.

Also any ideas how to best dry the inside of the tank now ive washed it?

Think il just leave the pipe out. what you think?

not sure about that hose, as far as i know theres not supposed to be anyhting like that in the tank.

if you have access to a compressor, compressed air works well to dry out fuel tanks. if you cant get a hold of a compressor you could wrap a clean rag around a long screwdriver or something and wipe it out in there, or i suppose you could put a bit of gas in, shake it around and make sure you dump it in a fish bearing stream after

sounds like someone dropped a vent hose in there. Only thing in the tank is two white scrren type filters that come off the bike of the fuel valve.

Exactly!

I would remove the petcock & rinse the whole tank with fresh gas or carb cleaner!
