Hey guys,

Im new here but have been trolling around for a while, and i have to say awesome site.

Now, on to my troubles. I recently put a K&N filter with snorkle removed on the bike, along with FMF fatty gold serious pipes with powercore 2's. I am sitting at around 700ft above sea level. I put in 280 main jets and left the pilots alone(for now, ordered 27.5's which should be in soon). the problem is that when i warm it up and got for a rip say wind out the bike all the way through 6th it dies after sometimes. but if i let it cool down for a few minutes it will start again. Now when it dies, its the same symptoms as if a plug fouls, and even sometimes runs like theres a somewhat fouled plug? but what gets me if i let it sit itll fire up and run great. i think the new pilot will help a bit. also, it only dies sometimes. if im riding a track from 1-4 gears everything is peachy?

so im kind of stumped. the bike actually did all this before the mods sometimes which makes me think its getting hot. Im kind of in a rush, so i didnt check spelling, sorry if its horrible. The bike is an 02'

thanks!

Have you looked at the plugs right after it dies? You should try that next time, it may explain a few things. You should do a proper plug chop (SEARCH) to check the main jet. A guess off the top of my head would be float height or a dirty/sticking needle/seat.

what do your plugs look like? you need to do a wide open throttle plug check to see how they look. if they are really wet and dark youre too rich. if they are white colored youre lean. you need to be a cardboard color. also, the pilot will have nothing to do with how it runs at WOT so you can rule that out now. but it prolly needs the 27.5 pilot to idle right..

Ran a WOT plug test, and the plugs look nice and tan coloured.

but at the beginnign of the ride, it would still cut out one cylinder once and a while then i would shut it off let is sit for literally 1 min and it would fire back up like normal, then die down a few times. i read the plugs when it did this and they are still nice and tanned. On WOT and when it dies the plugs are kind of wet on the threads though? is that normal? the plugs are also brand new as of yesterday and it still dies. the weird part is halway through the ride it stopped dieing out and ran great, it diis that the last time too? i havent cleaned the filter for a couple rides and it was pretty dusty, so i dont know if thats the issue? I have the snorkel removed on the airbox as well, should i put it back on or maybe drill some holes? Oh before i forget i took apart the carbs yesterday and everything is clean and working correctly. maybe i should change the needle position?

thanks again
