I think this is high for high temp silicone.

I got it cause I read on here that is what I should use. It is Yamabond 6B.

Do I really need this stuff to seal the water pump gasket and the clutch cover gasket? Or can I just use high temp red stuff at the parts store.

If the parts store stuff will work okay on the gaskets, I'll take the yamabond back.

I'm gonna return it.

If I was splitting the case I would keep it, but not just for putting it on a water pump gasket and a case cover.

Robbed without a gun

I'll take it back and buy a 12 pack with what I saved and I'll feel much better

if the gaskets are good and the gasket sealing areas are flat you shouldnt even need any type of sealant.

on my shee i didnt use any gasket sealer on the clutch cover or the water pump cover. i guess my shit is pretty straight.

I just replaced my waterpump gasket and clutch cover gasket and didn't use sealant. But ofcourse mine is a 04 still pretty straight and you should have to use BS like that if your getting new gaskets.

Am i right?

Yamabond on side covers is uneccesary...and over kill. Overkill for water pump cover, too.

You have to have it for cases...

Any old chemical resistant RTV will work fine for either the WP gasket and side cover....they don't get that hot.

Clean both surfaces with a fine grit paper, a scotchbrite pad on an angle grinder does wonders. Just don't get trigger happy...a coarse pad on a die grinder can take aluminum off pretty fast...

Thin coat of RTV on both sides of the gasket....don't over do it.
