troykajoe Posted June 14, 2007 Report Posted June 14, 2007 I've been wondering..... do any of the out of frame pipes work with a stock swingarm or do they all require an extended swingarm for proper clearance? I realize most people would want the extended setup but I'm curious. All of the pictures I have ever seen with oof pipes have extended swingarms. Thanks, Joe Quote

Dinner Posted June 14, 2007 Report Posted June 14, 2007 the swing arm does not effect the way the pipes mount or work extended swing-arms are to keep a your shee from fliping back and pinning you ars to the ground Well put, Fellas run extended swingers due to have all that HP that will throw the front end up like nothing if they did run stock swingers. So they put on extended ones so that the front end does not lift off the ground. Drag pipes connect at the cylinder and at the foot peg i believe. Quote
troykajoe Posted June 15, 2007 Author Report Posted June 15, 2007 I'm not sure why I ask questions but I continue to do so. Once again, the answers were not for the question I posed. I know the purpose of an extended swingarm. That wasn't my question. My question, quite simply, was if a person was not using an extended swingarm would a set of out-of-frame pipes clear the tire? If you look at any picture with a Banshee outfitted with a set of oof pipes, it appears that if the tire is kept in the origianl factory position it would be very close to the stingers if not touching it. Has anyone here actually run out-of-frames on a bike with stock swingarm, stock width axle, and stock tires? Quote
r/atvshee Posted June 15, 2007 Report Posted June 15, 2007 I've seen a banshee with a stock swinger that had drag pipes. They didnt hit or rub and the banshee wasnt strutted. Quote

The whole point is I think if you built a motor that could use OOF pipes, you're gonna extend it out back...and then it's a non-issue. I know that's not the answer you're looking for, but it's reality.... Quote
