allstarbanshee Posted June 1, 2007 Report Posted June 1, 2007 Hey guys I just pulled my 05 banshee motor with less than 50 hrs on it and have it scattered to rebuild bigger and badder. Im thinkin of goin with a 7 mil stroker will i have to have any case mods for the 7 mil.? Also gonna put a cool head on it and an override tranny. any ideas on carbs as well? this is basically gonna be a drag only banshee now. I still want to run on gas for now although alky is no prob either. thanks for any help Quote
dajogejr Posted June 1, 2007 Report Posted June 1, 2007 7 mil is a waste of money, IMO. If you go bigger than 4 mil, you will have to trench the cases. Are you planning on running stock cylinders, aftermarket cylinders? A 7 mil and 10 mil crank are the same price...as well. If it's gonna be drag only, alky is the ONLY way to fly.... Get your stock head cut for an Oring. Get a pair of used 39PWK snomobile carbs, pickup a fuel pump. You won't need an expensive pingel valve or bigger volume float bowls... Override and lockup tranny is the only way to fly. Quote
shanYE west Posted June 1, 2007 Report Posted June 1, 2007 I agree, If your going to do a 7mil might as well go with the 10mil. Unless your racing and need to be in a certain displacement class like 450cc and lower. Quote
locogato11283 Posted June 1, 2007 Report Posted June 1, 2007 i have both a 4mm cub and 10mm cub.. personally i would go with a 4mm motor. they are the most cost effective and if setup correctly can put a whoopin on a 10mm cub.. Quote
strokerace Posted June 1, 2007 Report Posted June 1, 2007 go big or go home there is no replacment for displacment Quote
bansheeseat$$ Posted June 2, 2007 Report Posted June 2, 2007 Since I like spending other peoples money LOL,Here's a plan for you,Build a 10 mil 72mm bore cheetah with 41mm carbs on alky.Since your only racing it! Quote
allstarbanshee Posted June 4, 2007 Author Report Posted June 4, 2007 Hey guys I really appreciate your opinions, heres my plans... I still plan on runnin stock cyclinders for now, I still like to ride in the dunes a lil mainly the flat out drags in the dunes. but here at home we also have an asphalt and dirt drag strip for atvs. I want something that is gonna be very quick on the track but also can ride out in the dunes long enough to whoop up on some of the thumpers. The override tranny is a guarantee already and im goin with drag pipes as well ( out of frame) just want a good realiable VERY FAST motor. Thanks Justin. and as of right now our track isnt goin in cc class its bracket racing or straight up heads up . Quote
