White06Shee Posted May 17, 2007 Report Posted May 17, 2007 My Outweres On My K&N;s Keep On Burning On My Cpi Pipes, It TheMiddle Peice Where The Pipes And Silencers Go On, I Have 6" Filters And Have Already Went Threw 3 Pairs Of Outweres, How Can i Stop This?? Quote
Animalman294 Posted May 17, 2007 Report Posted May 17, 2007 You have to figure out a way to either shim the brackets or bend the pipes to make more clearance. I moved my filters back about eight inches by extending with ABS pipe and large freight truck radiator hose. Then I put a bolt down through the center of the filters and used a piece of chrome diamond plate to bolt it to and it looks pretty trick. This longer distance may be causing turbulance inside the cylender, but I am going to have to experiment with it. Hope that helps.................. Quote

ClimbAnyHill Posted May 17, 2007 Report Posted May 17, 2007 Get the header wraps from Cascade Innovations, they slide right over the pipe  Quote
RIPPEN Posted May 17, 2007 Report Posted May 17, 2007 Climbs got the right idea.. All you need to do is get header wrap and wrap the pipe where the filters are REALLY close or touching.. I got the stuff thats basicly like a cloth material.. Wraped'em up and held the ends with hose clamps, WALA problem solved.. I could get pics up maybe by this weekend if interested.. RIPPEN Quote
