I'm trying to get my hands on the 2 bolts that go through the gas tank cover, through the front fender, and into the gas tank. I can't find a dealer that has them in stock, and I can't find a spec. on them to tell me what they are supposed to be. Can anyone give me a measurement i.e. length, thread pitch, and head type.

They are either M6 or M8 and 1.50 or 1.75 pitch.

The only bolts I've found so far that are 1.25 are the footpeg bolts...(and I've had to tap a lot a holes on my frame and motor lately due to my powdercoating...)

Just do what everyone else does...find bolts off something else, take it to the hardware store and match it up...LOL.

Thanks, but the ones I was looking for are the 2 that go into the back of the tank and holds the front fender, and the tank cover to the tank. I ended up going to the hardware store and getting 2 that fit.

Thanks for the replys.

O.k. I know the Banshee hasn't changed much in 20 years but does anyone know the answer to this. There are 2 holes on the top of the tank cover, they don't even come close to the holes they are supposed to screw into. My questions are, could it be an aftermarket tank cover or 2 could they be stock just from a year that it changed? The fit of my tank cover and rad cover are horrible. The front of the rad cover doesn't even fit into the where it should on the front fender. I'm just curious if anyone has run into this?

Could the frame be bent or tweaked a bit? That would throw off the holes.

You can find just about anything OEM on that site, just search what bolt, screw, nut, etc. you want and they have it. Hope it helps ya out...if not now but in the future.

m6x1.00 I am positive.

ditto. id use light torque on them too, the parts in the tank are only brass inserts, and they come out/spin fairly easily.

Isn't that the truth. Cost me a new tank recently cause of that.
