Hello, everyone. I am considering some douglas beadlocks. i am wondering how hard it is to change tires on these compared to regular wheels. What steps and tools are involved? Thanks for your advice.

u can put tires on and take them off urself

u need a bead breaker to bust inside beed off but i have taken many tires off and put them on myself

Are you saying you can do this yourself with beadlocks, or with conventional wheels like my OEM stock banshee wheels? How? I have heard of breaking the bead with 2X4 and weight, but then how do you get the bead over and off the lip of the wheel?

you can get the hand tools. or do it the ez way find a tire shop throw it on the hydrolic tire remover and pop it right off...

is there any reason you want the bead locks? just looks? cause its pretty hard to bust a bead when riding... we used them on our Midget open wheeled race cars.. but they are pushing Very high HP and then they slide in the corners and bump each other... i dont really see you meeding them just doing some casual riding and having fun...

I thought they may be worth getting if it eases tire changing. Right now, I have a set of new 20X11X9 Razrs and am deciding whether to put them on the stock rims, which will require removing the stock tires, or getting some beadlocks and mounting them on them.

do you plan on changing tire very often? i dont see it happening much... if not then stick with normal rims and take them to like discount tire and have them swap them out fopr a few buks

i just bought a full set of wheels and tires...brand new!!!from some guy who got out of the sport(idiot)the tires are holeshot mx4's all the way around..still with the little threads on them..the back rims are stock9 inch yfz450's..but the front are brand new douglas beadlocks.. i like the way they look..but wouldnt have ever purchased a whole set at new prices for the type of riding i do....i priced the tires...240 ish?? brand new..the beadlocks alone are 174.99 average for two fronts....

i paid 150 for all.....hell of a deal

like i said...i really dont need beadlocks for my style of riding...but they do look nice

If your a casual rider go by your means but Beadlocks are great to have. Espically the Douglas Beadlocks strongest wheels out there. You will never have to worry about smacking a tree and bending a rim, they help out big time with sidewall protection, and they are almost imposible to break. Ive seen a few hiper wheels break just in hardcore trails that yeah can be considered GNCC track just as gnarly. They are alot eayser to change with handtools. If you take them to a tire place you will get charged everytime you want to swap tires and if you go through alot of them beadlocks actualy payoff.
