i agree but i am guilty of doing the same thing. hell, half the time i forget those other forums are even there. this gen disc is right at the top and some people dont even make it to the bottom to see the other one. those 4 or 5 new forums are kinda dead. im not even sure they are really useful. i could start cleaning more of this up. hell half the threads in this forum would be moved. ha.

I think we all do... I have had several topics in the other general but frankly hardly anyone goes there.. So whats the point of posting it there? Kinda like Loco said the other "new "forums arn't doing a whole lot. I understand that over time they may catch on but right now they do very little.. I think it would help in the long run if all the forums were organized better.. Have the "general" up more twards the top like it was in the past.. Move the General Banshee down more to the Just the banshee stuff.. Just a idea..

I agree that the forums being down "below the fold" aren't being used as much as those near the top. I figured though if I move too much off-topic categories higher up, it may take away from the actual banshee-related categories.

 

I think once I add more mods, and we can all pitch in and move some topics to the right locations, they'll start filling up. Once the topic-reply-notification emails start directing people towards the off-topic forums and lesser-used forums, they will gain in momentum.

I agree, however I do not seem to get many topic notifier emails anymore. I have made sure that the HQ was added to all the safelists on my email accounts, but for some reason I only get an email remeder every once in awhile.

It's nice though having a wide range of topics and places to post stuff at. Just have to figure out which ones are placed at...lol I was part of that myself when i first got on here but hell i'm still a newbie.

I think the reason nobody post in the other one vs. this general banshee discussion is because nobody looks in the other one. You can post and never get a reply, and in this one you get a reply in 30 seconds. I agree if those catagories were moved up they would be used more.

I was trying to point out the absuridy of having two "discussion" type forums and made my case by finding 13 out of place threads just on the first page of the GBD forum.

 

and for the guys who wrote those not-so-nice replies to post today. I see what your all fired up over, your thinking that im bitching about these people who started these threads and want the moderators to take action. Its an inferior complex issue. Your first instint is to attack. Maybe you feel threatened by me. You are more of the emotional type, while I'm the more logical type. You need to chill out and relax. Im a nice guy, really. there's some bad karma out there.

 

The only reason I care about all the threads being posted in the general banshee discussion forum is my obsessive urge to be organized and it bothers me to see video clip threads and suspension questions in the GBD forum. I think the general discussion forum should go away and the general banshee discussion forum change its name back to general discussion. Do yas follow me :biggrin: whew. Im not out to attack anyone so back the fuck off.

To make sure we are straight.......................I just voice my indifference on the issue, nothing negative towards you. I think a few other folks got out of hand though.
