thanks im new to banshees and the website is exxclnt.... i have a 01 with +4 timing,20.thous shaved stock head,fmf fattys,im in dallas tx i think were below see level. i also have k/n pod filters no box,jeff at fast sold me a jet kit,i jeeted it from 200 to 300 on mains and left stock pilots and needles.... this bike was all stock it seems like it was faster all stock it has a problem off idle boging then picks up and runs wot perfect seems just idling around it is a slow no response at all ,also flutters at low speeds and a few backfires... im wondering if its the pilots??? ive adjusted air screws from 1 out to 2 out no difference....it feels like no torque...my friend has a 01 with fmf ssts and shve head his is VERY responsive and fast ,mine is very bogy down low feeling...

 

im losing ideas wat to do the bike starts perfect every time plugs are a little bronish im thinking pilots???the kit came with 30 jets only.. i have no air leaks and the tors box is unplugged,new plugs,i thinking my carbs arent adjusted perfect???????????

With my mods, I tried the 300 mains and it killed mine. Went back to 280 mains, about 1-1/4 turns out on the screws and runs awesome. Also I have the stock pilots in. I'm at 1000 ft.

shows 80 on both cyl? but 3 weeks ago i honed cyl and put new rings and pistons in it just for maintince and my gauge read 75-80 lbs also so i believe my gauge is wrong? because the bike starts every 1 kick very easy?ill

try another gauge tommorow

 

i didnt think it would run on that low compression am i wrong???

It would run like shit on that compression. unplug your coil and kick it over like your starting it like 6-8 times per cyclinder one after another and see what it reads. you should have a min of 120 any lower and you need to fix it for sure.

the plug looks little brownish/black doesnt look to lean or rich? im comparing it to my race car plugs?

ive kicked it 6-8 timeas at least.. would it still run wot good seems to pull hard,on that low off compression..

i mked the jugs honed cyl installed new pistrons/rings the .std....what else would make low compression

must be a bad tester. but those pilots are to big. get some 27.5`s and 25`s and try them for sure.

im sorry i did not change pilots yet there stock i never pulled them out,the kit came with 30s but i did not put them in......do u no what stock pilots are?????

 

25. maybe you have a clog in there somewhere.

your pilots should be fine. I would drop main jet size down to 280. I would also change the needles. they have a different fuel curve than stock. also make sure your carbs are synchronized. (opening at the same time).

 

Did you just put the pipes and pods on?

when did mains begin to effect idle off idle response? mains dont really effect anything till 3/4 throttle.

yes i did i changed the jets to 290 today no better i have some red needles the kit came with try those???by looking on inside of carbs they appear to be sliding both the same... use factory middle clip on needles?

 

also what is the +4 timng plate do more low end it should have made a diffrence right??
