arab st Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 I fited my bike with Toomey T6 race kit. 280 main jet at sea level When started it runs great on idle, but when i open the throttle it revs up and come down real slowley or just starts runing away on its own. When i kill the swich only one cylinder dies, the other one just keeps going(key off aswell)What can the problem be? Bansh-eman Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 when you kill the ignition and the motor stays running that normally indicates a hot spot. carbon builds on your pistons and can get red hot causing the fuel to burn early or without a spark at all... in most cases it wont stay running though it will just diesel a few times and then die. are you sure your electrical is hooked up right? Screaming Yellow Zonker Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 how do your plugs look? to me it sounds like you are running too lean and that is bad. did you rejet when you put the pipes on? Quote
mpbanshee Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 Sounds like you have something installed in the carb wrong, something clogging a jet, or an air leak. Quote
kojack Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 check your slides in the carbs for the cable binding a little. I have had that happen where the cable wasnt seated all the way in the cap and would run goofy like you described. Good luck- Erik Quote
kojack Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 one more thing, ,mine would do the glow plug effect your getting as well. Thats what makes it not turn off even when you kill the switch. Lots of fun huh. If it happens putt your hand over the carba and starve the engine of air to kill it. Do you have the tors removed? Quote
