jayzx10r Posted April 15, 2007 Report Posted April 15, 2007 Just got my first banshee! It's bone stock! What is the best oil to mix with the gas and at what ratio? Thanks You can't go wrong with Yamalube 2R mixed at 40 to 1. Everyone has their favorite, but personally I'm not a fan of the Castor Base Oils that a lot of the racers use becaue it separates and easily gums up your carbs if not drained after use. I run it in my Banshee as well as my dirt bike (2000 YZ250) and after pulling the YZ cylinder to replace the piston after 3 years of hard use, the piston still looked new!! No carbon build up and I could still see the fine machine marks on the piston after many, many hours of thrashing!! While there are some trendier choices based on how cool it smells, in the real world...Yamalube 2R works GREAT!! Just my opinion. Jay From SanDiego. Quote

yamaha04 Posted April 17, 2007 Report Posted April 17, 2007 bluemarble 40:1 sometimes yamalube 36:1/34:1 when i run out of bluemarble Quote
MILO Posted April 17, 2007 Report Posted April 17, 2007 yamalube 2r - 32:1. you can't go wrong with that. 40:1 may be a bit to lean. 32:1 is safer for your top end. you can spend twice as much for oils that smell better, but umm, yeah, whatever. Quote
r/atvshee Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 You have to take smell in for consideration. Exspecially for those 4 stroke that your beating, atleast they'll have something to enjoy and look forward to when you race them. LOL Klotz supertechniplate at 32:1 50/50 race/pump Quote
jeepnut Posted April 18, 2007 Author Report Posted April 18, 2007 This is a 04 limited edition bone stock 6.5:1 compression! I drained all fluids and mixed yamalube at 32:1 and this thing is a TURD! What would you guys recommend to get some more power out of it? Keep in mind I just spent $4000 on it so were should I start with upgrades? Quote
Washburn Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 I run Castor 927 at 32:1 over Yamalube because t burns much cleaner and it has more film strength witch makes it better at higher temps the smell is just a bonus. What kind of riding do you do? Tires should be your first mod it will drasticaly improve how your bike handles and depending on what tires you get they will help with traction and addedpower to the ground for HP Mods The first thing you should do to wake your Banshee up is get a set of Pipes depending on your riding style and where you want your power is how you should decide on what set to buy Then Reeds NossHead with smaller domes Timing Plate All of those mods will give you plenty of power then you should look into handling components A-Arms suspension Axle If you need anything feel free to PM or E mail me [email protected] and I will hook you up. jeepnut Posted April 18, 2007 Author Report Posted April 18, 2007 I'm already looking into a set of holeshots! And what would a+2 swing arm do to the handling? Getting to old to for anymore back injuries! I would like to keep the power in the mid range so what pipes do you recommend? Quote
