Banshee0028 Posted April 8, 2007 Report Posted April 8, 2007 i tried searching but didnt find anything. what all is needed to do this mod. I think the calipers bolt right on. I have some I am going to install as soon as I get a chance! Quote
smokin 2 stroke Posted April 8, 2007 Author Report Posted April 8, 2007 let me know please because i was going to going to put banshee front brakes on a blaster and then rememberd they do the 450 swap so i figured it would be the same thing with the blaster Quote
Shee-Male Posted April 8, 2007 Report Posted April 8, 2007 the 450 calipers bolt right on the banshee, i have had a set on for over a year now....awsome upgrage  Quote
BenBB Posted April 8, 2007 Report Posted April 8, 2007 Yep YFZ450 two-piston calipers on a Banshee is about as easy as it gets; unbolt old ones, bolt on new ones, bleed 'em and ride. Banshee calipers on a Blaster needs a 'lil more tho I think, like spindles, hubs & rotors... Quote

BenBB Posted April 9, 2007 Report Posted April 9, 2007 (edited) Oh damn that's gonna be some serious stopping power lol! My daughter's '03 Blasty with discs up front (factory) stops on a dime, with dual-piston calipers it would be on the thin side of a dime haha! One thing I forgot to mention; be careful with the caliper mounting bolts-they correlate to the spindle you're using. You can use YFZ450 caliper mounting bolts in a YFZ450 spindle (longer bolts, cast aluminum spindle) but you need to use Banshee caliper mounting bolts in a Banshee spindle (the bolts are shorter for the cast steel spindle). If you use the longer YFZ450 bolts on a Banshee spindle they may extend through the caliper backing plate and gouge/drag into the rotor... Edited April 9, 2007 by BenBB Quote
