375hp banshees Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 what ratio is taller ...going up 1 tooth in the front, or taking off in 2nd (from stock gearing) kinda need something between stock 1 & 2nd gear for launching...will going up 1 tooth in the front(& taking off in 1st) be in between,or to tall? dajogejr Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 1 tooth larger in the front is "roughly" the same as 2.5 teeth off the rear. Dial in the front, fine tune with the rear teeth. Don't forget, if you're running a lockup...you can further fine tune with weights....dial that in by your 60 foot time. Quote
4strokessuck Posted April 6, 2007 Report Posted April 6, 2007 I'm +1 on the crank and use 1st gear on street and 2nd on dirt and sand. Works good for me. It does put 1st gear roughly in between stock 1st and 2nd. Good luck. Quote
