vtecjun Posted March 25, 2007 Report Posted March 25, 2007 I'm sure at 24:1 its going to look pretty black. Was it smoking excessivly? Quote
350BANSHEE350 Posted March 25, 2007 Author Report Posted March 25, 2007 still has the same tank of gas the dealer put in it so its like super new we are going to be putting 32:1 i didnt do a plug chop i just looked at the top and it was pretty black i was just wondering if it was supposed to be like this my elevation is 4000ft at 15-25 degrees celcius it was smoking quite abit but then again it was 24:1 so would 32:1 be less smoky and better for it? thank for the help i just wanted to know if the plugs go black after riding it awhile Quote
dajogejr Posted March 25, 2007 Report Posted March 25, 2007 I'd be pulling the jets. If the bike is 100% bone stock, as in stock pipes, air filter, air box, etc....it's probably rich due to your elevation unless your dealer rejetted it. (sometimes they do, sometimes not. I'd pull one main jet to see what is in there. I'd say you're more than safe. Mix up a tank at 32:1...if it's still black on the plugs, remove the snorkel to help it breath a tad and lean out the jetting a tad. I bet that would just about set you up perfect!!! Quote
RagunCajun Posted March 25, 2007 Report Posted March 25, 2007 (edited) When i bought my shee in January, the guy has been using 24:1 benoil premix oil i think it's called. Now im at 50:1 using amsoil dominator. I just made the switch to 50:1 though. I was running amsoil at 32:1 for over a month. It ran great w/o any problems. I wouldnt see a problem going to 32:1. When i got the bike and test rode it, it had two bad plugs. I thought that's all the power shee had...till i put two new plugs in it. Holy shit.....then i seen what the fuss about banshees were all about. I had the biggest grin on my face. woops, went off topic there. My bad haha. Edited March 25, 2007 by RagunCajun Quote
MDS2106 Posted March 25, 2007 Report Posted March 25, 2007 I would have stayed with the benoil, maybe not 24-1 mixture but definately the benoil.... Quote

350BANSHEE350 Posted March 25, 2007 Author Report Posted March 25, 2007 well the power feels strong all the way through he throttle through all the gears so i hope its just the mix is heavy causing that i never took out my jets before or took apart a carb before because im only 14 and dont want to screw up my new bike i worked so hard for thanks for the help guys Quote
vtecjun Posted March 25, 2007 Report Posted March 25, 2007 Just get yourself a service manual, or download this one http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...=service+manual Follow all the steps to remove the bowls on the carbs and the main jet is easy to get to. Quote
