jerseyboy Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 (edited) whats up i'm new to this sit but some help would be great. first i live @ sea leval. quad has fattypipes,k&n w/lid, 30over,mild port,i'm running it at 32:1 klotz on pump with some klotz octane booster. the problem seems that the band isnt kicking in hard at all, and is smoking pretty bad and the right pipe smokes more than the left??? any help would be great. also the guy i bought the quad from has all the rev limiters unpluged?? and some other things are unpluged, but not sure what. mpbanshee Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 Banshee's don't have rev limiters. What you see unplugged is most likely the TORS assembly, and the parking brake switch. Sounds like your problems are with the carbs. First of all, take both carbs apart one at a time, and clean them out really good. Use carb cleaner spray and compressed air. If you still have problems, you need to play with the jetting. My guess is with your mods, you shouold be ok with stock pilots (25), needle clip in middle position (stock steeing) and somewhere around a 260 main jet. Quote
jerseyboy Posted March 25, 2007 Author Report Posted March 25, 2007 thanks i'm going to try that also today i think i lost all compression. i can kick start the bike with my hand?? it also as no bottom end pull at all. and if any knows why every time i drain the crank case oil it is a real milky white color. i was thinking either head gasket or crank seal because the right side smokes more than the left and that plug always seems to burnt up more Quote

Secondly, you have "hijacked" a thread with your first post!! Impressive!!!! Start a new post in the carb/exhaust section. Also do a search for a "plug chop", located on top screen on this site. This will give you detailed instructions on what you need to know. Quote
Michael Jackson Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 the things unplugged are probabaly the 2 old tors cables that pluged into the top of the old carb tops, and the other one is unplugged from that little black box under your radiator , thats the tors u dont want that shit. Quote
Michael Jackson Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 yea also your old parking breake switch needs to be disengaged and removed, rip it off, if it thinks its on, it limits your revs to liek 2400 rpms or some shit like that.. not sure about exact number, but non the less, it limits its revs alot Quote
