I have a 2005 chevy 3/4 ton pickup with a short bed. I am curious if and how I could fit my banshee and girlfriends warrior in the back of it. I would need to close the tailgate or remove it.

If they will fit, what is the best way to load them? I have seen people stand them up but I dont understand how they get the one in the rear lifted up in such a short space.

Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks

Dave

6x10 trailer... 1000 dollars well spent. You will use it for more than hauling quads also, trust me..

Bed of the truck, gear, cooler, pop-up tent, beer, food, chairs, grilll... etc..

get a trailer for sure.. i dont see how these guys stand their bikes up like that then drive a few hours to go out ridig then drop them down and start it up...

2 stroke isnt that bad casue there is no oil in the crank case but a 4 stroke that isnt the smartest thing iv seen...

not a chance in hell youll see my bikes loaded up like that...

If I had to do it, I would stand the first quad vertical, belly facing the cab. A shortbed is 6 foot correct? If so, the first quad would be 3 foot back. Then weld a decent rack to hold the second parralell(sp?). A 50 inch width would put you 12-15 inches over the gate... Prob enough room for the pull-behind.... Just an idea

Hell, if your that pressed for room, Take the tires off both and you can get them in a 6' bed sideways...

Don't ask how I know, we were really broke at that point and wanted to ride..

You can fit them in sitting on the bed rails sideways. If you have an extended swingarm or anything that extends the wheelbase of the bikes that method will have less of a chance of working. Other than that, standing them on their ass is the only other option besides buy a trailer. If you stand them on their ass you may want to consider taking the fenders off the bike or atleast decide that you don't mind stress marks in the plastic becasue the wind will be molesting them once you get going down the road.

We used to get 2 blasters in sideways in shortbed dodge dakota so I'm sure you should be able to get a banshee and a warrior in sideways in a fullsize w/ a shortbed.

I've crammed two quads in a half ton short bed, a Blaster & Banshee and the same way with two Banshees like this:

BUT you're not gonna get the tailgate up...and ya gotta be careful getting the front one up & down or you're gonna pop that back window. Plus after riding all day or a race ya really don't feel like hefting that bitch up again heh. I finally got a 5x12 trailer this year for $700 to pull 'em, I've seen a truck pulling two trailers around here too like MDS2106 said, you might check with your state DMV and see if they will let you do that, the 3/4 ton oughta handle it...

you guys are crazy.,... lol..

TO ANSWER THE QUESTION.. USE THE "PIGGY BACK" METHOD. FIRST QUAD STANDS UP ON ITS REAR GRAB BAR .. BELLY FACING THE REAR.. NO BED EXTENDER NEEDED.. 2ND BIKE LOAD UP AND FACE ITS REAR GRAB BAR TOWARDS THE CAB AND THE FRONT TIRES WILL JUST SLIGHTLY HANG OFF THE REAR PART OF THE TAILGATE.. ALTHOUGH I CANT EVER FIT MUCH OF GEAR WHEN I DO THAT SO I MADE A HITCH BOX THAT BOLTS UP TO THE HITCH SLEEVE AND I CAN THROW ALL MY GEAR IN THERE..

SHET HE POSTED ALREADY.. BUT YUP THERE IT IS .. ONLY I FACE THE LAST QUAD THE OTHER WAY.. looks badas rollin down the street too!! lol
