Tail Light

Recommended Posts

Hey,

Just wondering what all I could use for a rear tail light? I was thinking about just using a marker light from around my place(we have a whole bunch of different lights for trailers, etc) so I was wondering if I could just use one of them? On my wiring harness there is a blue wire and black wire just hanging, so I'm guessing one is ground and the other is hot?

Pic of one of those lights:(It would be either one of the orange or red ones on the corner of the bed)

Thanks!

With most incandescent lights, it doesn't matter which wire you hook to which lead as long as one wire is a ground and one is from a power source.

Why do you not want to install a proper Banshee taillingt or after market taillight? Whatever you use make sure that it doesn't exceed the power consumption of the stock 194 light bulb. Without doing the math, I think that bulb probably draws around .5 amps.

To lazy to get one, figured with all these lights around here, might be able to use one  But I just found out my one friend has an old Tri-Z rear tail light. Would I be able to just use that?

Well I'll just have to get it now and try it out. I'll post some pics to see if it looks good once I get it on

Here is a pic of one. That's what my banshee used to look like(the one in the middle) And the light will probably be like the one on the right

The Tri-Z on the left seems to have the same problem that your Banshee does? Does the Tri-Z on the right have two taillights? If not, which on the of the things on the back of that bike is the taillight (top or bottom)?

While that isa great idea and looks very nice, I think Dinner was looking for the least amount of work/free taillight solution.

It's a great idea. I just wanted to pass on what Dinner had in mind so you knew what the deal was if he didn't use your idea.

The tailight is the top, its a reflector on the bottom.

I may look into that, where is a cheap place to get them, Wal-Mart or something like that?

i dont think walmart will have them.. go to kenworth or petebilt place they have several diff lights that will work as a banshee tail light from little to big... easy to wire you up too ... one hot wire one ground wire..and some only have a hot wire and ground to the bracket.
