Is it possible to ride with out the lower motor mounts? Just the two bolts that hold the motor in? Or is this a must. Thanks, JD

My first question would be why would you NOT use them?

iv have also looked at them and wondered how much of a part they play in keeping the motor from twisting when you hammer it... but if i got them on there, no reason to rick it and take them off to find out the hard way 4 miles or so in the middle of the desert

Get some.

I'd bet you can find them from a member here or on ebay for 20 bucks or so....

I got some shiny chrome ones off eBay for around $10 once upon a time.

If you like a straight frame you will keep those lower engine mounts. I've seen a lot of the big drag guys bend or crack frames from not using those lower mounts. There is a lot of torque transferred to the chassis through the engine mounts when you take off...

That reminds me: I think the parts that we are talking about are technically called "torque stays," not engine mounts. :geek:
