Capone Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 Is it possible to ride with out the lower motor mounts? Just the two bolts that hold the motor in? Or is this a must. Thanks, JD Quote

dajogejr Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 Get some. I'd bet you can find them from a member here or on ebay for 20 bucks or so.... Quote
Bansh-eman Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 iv have also looked at them and wondered how much of a part they play in keeping the motor from twisting when you hammer it... but if i got them on there, no reason to rick it and take them off to find out the hard way 4 miles or so in the middle of the desert Quote

BigRed350x Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 If you like a straight frame you will keep those lower engine mounts. I've seen a lot of the big drag guys bend or crack frames from not using those lower mounts. There is a lot of torque transferred to the chassis through the engine mounts when you take off... Quote

That reminds me: I think the parts that we are talking about are technically called "torque stays," not engine mounts. :geek: Quote
