LiftdT4R Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 pro circuit pipes, boost bottle and a k&n with the lid on 30 pilots?!?!?! That's HUGE dude. You should probably be more lik 25 if you don't have any porting. The mains are right though, and then you should mess with your idle screws and carb caps(if you have TORS removed, which you should) to get the bike on spot. Also, where ae you located, elevation? Quote
rob8718 Posted March 11, 2007 Author Report Posted March 11, 2007 i ride in milan,mi i think the elevation is around 665 ft. not sure tho Quote
LiftdT4R Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 Yeah, that pilot is way way off, you should either be at a 260 or 270 main depending on temps, 270 if it's below 50, 260 if it's warmer. Try a 25 pilot, with the air screws 1.5 turns out or so, then play with the idle screw a bit. Quote
LiftdT4R Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 Yeah, if your needle is stock, keep it at the middle clip, and then go with the jetting suggestions above. By the way, when I saw your thread name, I thought of Borat, Wow wow wee, I need some jettings help, yah! Quote
Banchetta Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 pro circuit pipes, boost bottle and a k&n with the lid on Your jetting is very close....Try pulling the stock lid off and go from there. You'll notice a lot more low end response and pull...If your air screws like to be all the way in, then your not rich. You can mod the lid by cutting the last 1.5" of the end of the lid right behind the clips so you still have all 4 clips....the stock lid really holds back the shee....also make sure you still have the equalizer tube on between the carbs, cutaway in the slides are facing the air box and carbs are in sync... dajogejr Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 I agree with the above....I live in MI, and all my buds bikes used 25 pilots if they kept the airbox, 27.5 if they completely removed it. So...30 pilots would explain the loading up at idle/low speed. Drop stock pilots back in... The rest of the jetting sounds close... Quote

Pc pipes really like a rich pilot. He stated that it won't idle w/o the air screw being all the way in, which tells me that the shee wants to be richer....I don't think he has a pilot issue if thats the case. I think there is something else at hand. Quote

That tells me it's trying to get more air in (via a raised slide) because it's getting way too much fuel. Unless he got the idle and the air screw confused.... Rob, please confirm whether you mean the actual idle speed screw or the air mixture screw. Quote
rob8718 Posted March 12, 2007 Author Report Posted March 12, 2007 (edited) its my idle screw....my air screw is 1.5 turns out.....my carb slides was in backwards the bike idle really nice and revs nice not spiting oil out of the pipes anymore... wonder how long the guy was rideing it like that befor i got it  got it for 1,950 cut the fenders to the resized pics make the cuts look messed up... just installing some stuff that needed to be replaced rear axel bearings, front bearings, tie rods, front & rear brakes, clutch cable Edited March 12, 2007 by rob8718 Quote
pokeatyou2 Posted March 12, 2007 Report Posted March 12, 2007 come on guys didnt you read he has a boost bootle that think must fly he need all the fuel he can get lol sorry just kidding that pilot is huge mate knock it back to standard 25 Quote
