Crazy05 Posted March 4, 2007 Report Posted March 4, 2007 I am considering some drag pipes as my jugs are almost done with a 70 hp port. So I'm throwing these out there to see if there is any interest. They are small flange small bore. The chrome by the exaust ports is blued badly almost black at the flange. There are some glove marks by the fuel shutoff that may clean up. The silensers are gutted. If there is interest I'l will take pics in the next couple days or so. There is only like a 5 hp max gain going to the oofs so I would like to know what I can get for these so I know what its gonna cost for 3-5 hp. Hand mad means not stamped. Many section welds around the circumfrerence instead of down the length. The welds are very light and well done and the pipes are made with thinwall and are very very light. 1-10 scale I would say 6-7 in looks and 10 in performance. Quote
FasterThanU90 Posted March 4, 2007 Report Posted March 4, 2007 i have sum grand river small bore if ur interested in trade, why are u getting rid of them would think they would really shine with the port Quote
dajogejr Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 I'm thinking with a drag port and these pipes....your best bet is to ditch the single carb setup... Hate to see you get a set of out of frames, and these pipes might actually make MORE power. A good drag port OEM cylinder on gas should be every bit of high 70s to low 80s.... Quote

I love these pipes and know they will work good with my new porting but I also know the drag pipes will work a little better. Little here, little there, and next thing you know, you got a lot. If I could afford it I would keep them for just duning and run the oofs for hillshooting but I'm poor these days. Quote

My single isnt like the dreaded trinity. Its pretty sick and works good. It pulled good from 6k to 11k with the last hack porting I had. Kevin Herr has my Jugs now and it should run good either way. If the single keeps up I will keep it because it is just to easy to work on and remove. 1 clamp 1fuel line unsrew the top cap and the carb is on the bench. I think it will run better with 2 but not much. Quote
FasterThanU90 Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 get one bigger carb like 38 and run that i dont think the single 35 wil be enough Quote

It will run much, MUCH better with 2 carbs if the porting is worth anything....drag racing is all about top end, there just isn't enough flow from a single carb... Once you get the carbs dialed in...there's usually not a whole lot of maintenance. Maybe a jet change here and there for temp and/or altitude changes.... Quote
