FireHead Posted March 7, 2007 Author Report Posted March 7, 2007 i sold an xbox on ebay a while back. I took a bunch of pictures of it including the serial number, evn pics of it in the box to be shipped. The guyfiles a complaint to paypal and paypal immediatly took the money back. The guy said it looked like i had thrown it across the street before i shipped it. He then got my info and constantly called me. I gave paypal my pics and let them know he was harrasing me and all of a sudden the guy stopped calling me and i got my money refunded... not sure what happened but it all turned out ok, i guess.... So, good luck to you. I have certainly had issues with sellers on eBay and if I were a buyer in my buyer's positon I would be all over this issue like stink on shit. However this buyer seems to be taking his time doing anything (one of the reasons I think this deal is sort of fishy). I do have a ton of pictures of the carbs before I sent them out. Hopefully it won't come down to Paypal or eBay sorting it out. Quote
FireHead Posted March 13, 2007 Author Report Posted March 13, 2007 So, I get a call from UPS today saying that the guy that I shipped the carbs to had tried to file a damage claim with them. The lady told me that they inspected the carbs (she actually knew what they were, I was impressed) and found that there was no damage and that they looked brand new. Well, no shit, that's how I sold them and that's how they left my possession. UPS is going to mail me a signed letter containing their findings. Now, all I have to do is wait for the guy to get back to me, assuming that's what he's going to do next. I knew something was fishy with this deal, but I still can't figure out what the guy was hoping to gain from all this? Quote
FireHead Posted March 13, 2007 Author Report Posted March 13, 2007 So, check this out. UPS delivered the carbs back to me today (unexpectedly). They were broken just as the buyer claimed. The choke knob shaft was broken off and missing and the TORS Elminator cable adjusters were twisted off and one the nuts was from them was missing. They were certainly not like that when I sent them out. It is quite clear that the cable adjusters had been raped by a pair of pliers to the point of them getting stripped, twisting and breaking. I have no idea how the choke knob broke but the nut area on that looks like someone went after it with a set of pliers as well. It's pretty clear that the guy did this stuff himself (for reasons I can't figure out) and is trying to stick me with it. I am not wuite sure what to do at this point, other than wait for the guy contact me (I am not going to go out of my way to work this out with him). It's too bad that I left him positive feedback when he paid for the carbs, because I am certainly going to wind up getting negative feedback from the deal unless the guy waits too long to leave feedback. With the pictures that I have of the carbs before I sent them and the letter UPS is sending me I doubt Paypal will be able to do anything to me. Now, I just have to figure out what to do with the carbs if the guy doesn't contact me or screws me over in one way or another. I don't think that I am quite morally bankrupt enough yet to sell the carbs again after I repair them. Maybe I can give them away to someone on the HQ or something. What a fucking shitty deal this has turned out to be. :: Quote
FireHead Posted March 13, 2007 Author Report Posted March 13, 2007 Not that I have to prove anything to you guys, but here is a picture of the carbs that I took right before they went in the box to be shipped when the auction ended. Quote
