FireHead Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 The left side is cracked and un fixable! There is nothing wrong with the crank! The crank is already trued and welded. I am just going to try to find cheap used stockers! I wasn't talking about the crank? Quote
bansheeryder21 Posted February 27, 2007 Author Report Posted February 27, 2007 After talking to a few professional techs and shops, I've come to the conlusion that the cause of my problem is because you CANNOT run wiseco rings on stock banshee pistons! The stock bottom rings are thicker then the upper rings! On a wiseco ring set, both rings are the same size. This is why both BOTTOM rings on my bike slipped and cracked! Be sure to put this out to everyone because I know there are others who are running wisecos on stock pistons! Quote

I am just going to try to find cheap used stockers! It doesn't sound like you want to try and fix them. From your pics(can't see really clear) it looks like it could be welded and resleeved and such and you'd be good to go and you'd still have your good port job. One of my cylinders had a big nick in the bottom of it were someone had done some previous port work and hit it and Cam at redline welded it up and resurfaced the bases and you can't even tell. If theres a will theres a way, it's amazing what some good machinists/welders can fix if you leave them alone and let them work there magic. Quote

If it were me, I would just fix the cylinders. Quote
