Dinner Posted February 24, 2007 Report Posted February 24, 2007 If you took a look at my porting I did yesterday than you probably would of read my story about my coolant drain bolt :shoothead: Long story short...I broke my coolant drain bolt inside my left cylinder. Tried getting it out but no luck. I was wondering if I should drill it out, and re-tap it. Or if I could seal it up as is, then when time comes to take them off again. I'll just keep them up right and then drain it by tipping it upside down. I know that way is lazy..but what do you guys think I should do, and would i be alright with sealing it up? Thanks Dinner Quote
jeepman380 Posted February 25, 2007 Report Posted February 25, 2007 It wouldn't hurt anything to seal it up. Have you tried heating it up a bit and using a left handed drill bit? If that didn't work you could drill it out I suppose and re-tap it. Quote
jmkapala Posted February 25, 2007 Report Posted February 25, 2007 there are also extraction tools for this exact reason. check with your local parts/tool store. Quote

So I might leave it like this for a bit, unless something happens. there are also extraction tools for this exact reason. check with your local parts/tool store. Yea one of my friends has all those bits I just found out today. So if my sealant starts to fail, I will take it out. Quote
FireHead Posted February 25, 2007 Report Posted February 25, 2007 I have been skipping the normal process for getting stuck or broke fasteners out and have been taking it straight to the TIG welder and welding an old allen wrench to it. Quote
